the terror of rejection.

"The absence of the witch does not invalidate the spell" wrote Emily Dickinson.

This is so fitting.
So perfectly said.

I'm crying, listening to Dickinson's life. The asymmetric relationship she engaged in, the rejections she endured, and her powerful love.

I feel so seen.

There has always been something I can't understand about my love for you. I just don't get it. Why do I love you so much. Why can't I just let you go.
And since you left, couldn't you have cancelled your spell on your way out?
I wish you had.
It's so hard to love you so much, when you care so little.
